INTERNATIONAL DAY 17 October 2007  FOR THE ERADICATION OF POVERTY  
The Theme for the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty in 2007 is People Living in Poverty as Agents of Change: 20th Anniversary of the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty. Over 43.7 million people, in 127 countries have broken the Guinness World Record ?set last year at 23.5 million ?for the largest number of people to ?/font> 

USFMEP Delegation for the International Day of Peace Conference for 2008 at Hurghada, Egypt  will visit the Misr University for Science and Technology to pay tribute to the late Dr. Souad Kafafi for the great work she did to her country education. Delegation member Mrs. Kader received an Award from Chancellor Dr. Souad A. Kafafi Egyptian academician in April of 2004,  for her work in the role of women in the Middle East peace process.

Tunis - Mrs. Kader attended the Business Women’s Summit held in Tunis. More than 200 businesswomen from Middle East and North Africa gathered in entrepreneurship training programs and pursue networking opportunity with potential business partners from the Arab world and the United States; this summit is in response to President George W. Bush call, who has committed the United States to working together with the people and government of the Middle East and North Africa to achieve freedom, democracy and full educational and economic opportunity. The summit organized by the middle east partnership initiative.

March 30, 2004, CAIRO - A delegation from the United States Federation for Middle East Peace took a one week working visit to Cairo where they met with First Vice President of the United States Federation for Middle East Peace, Mr. Ahmed El-Fadaly of Egypt as well as many other prominent Egyptian activists and educators. While in Cairo they visited the National Council for Women and met with its Ambassador and Advisor to the Secretary General, Mrs. Samiha Abou Steit.

The Fifty-First session of the Commission on the Status of Women will take place from 26 February to 9 March 2007. In accordance with its multi-year programme of work for 2007-2009, the Commission will consider “The elimination of all forms of discrimination and violence against the girl child?/strong> as its priority theme. The US Federation for the Middle East Peace is participating in Three panels discussion.

51st Session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) at the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). It is the principal global policy-making body. The Commission is dedicated exclusively to gender equality and advancement of women. Every year, representatives of Member States gather at United Nations Headquarters in New York to evaluate progress on gender equality, identify challenges, set global standards and formulate policies to promote gender equality and the advancement of women. US Federation for Middle East Peace held the following three side-events:

Federation President Sally Kader addresses a gathering

The U.S. Federation for Middle East Peace  Conference for the year, 2006 under the auspicious of his Excellency Mr. Amir Mousa Secretary-General for the Arab league and International Muslim Youth Organization. Among the attendants are Nine Ministers, Nine Province Governors, and President of National Council for Youth, President of National Council for Sport, Egyptian officials and diplomatic community in Cairo, all spoke about Peace Education; and cheered Yes for Peace No to War. This is the third event for USFMEP organized in the Peace city Cairo.
